Birthright Of Prince Frederick helps only unwed, teenagers, right?


Birthright assists any woman, or man, who is looking for support with a pregnancy or parenting, regardless of age, marital status, race, religion, location, or income.


Do I need to schedule an appointment?


No, we do not require an appointment.  If you are a first time client, or in a crisis, please!, walk-in during our open hours.  However, if you call before coming a client advocate will be ready for your arrival.  We prefer established clients to call in advance, but walk-in visits are accepted.


How long will my appointment take?


On average,  a first time client will spend between 30 and 45 minutes at our center.  However, the length of time varies depends on your needs.  We can spend as much or as little time as it takes to get all of your questions and concerns addressed.


What do I need to bring to register for your services?


You do not need anything for Birthright of Prince Frederick to help you. However, if you need support services for a child that is not biologically yours, we reserve the right to ask for guardianship, kinship, or custody papers after the initial visit.


What kind of pregnancy test do you offer?


Birthright offers a free, lab grade pregnancy test. This test is designed to determine the presence of the pregnancy hormone HCG in urine. The manufacturer states that this test is 97% to 99% accurate seven to ten days after conception. This test will offer a positive or negative indication of pregnancy, but a final diagnosis can only be made by a doctor.


How much do you charge?


All Birthright services are provided free of charge.


Do you perform abortions?


Birthright is not a medical facility and we do not perform or refer for abortions.


Where are you located?


We are located in the Prince Frederick, Maryland, in Calvert County.  If you are in another location, please check out Birthright International®, as Birthright has centers all over the world. 


Who will I talk to when I come?


Birthright is staffed by trained volunteers prepared to offer loving, personal, confidential help to all those involved in an unplanned pregnancy. Together, we will explore options available so you can make choices that are best for you and your baby.


Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring a person for support, however please note they will be required to wait in our lobby during your session with our Client Advocate
